‘During my time at EQ studios I gained a firm knowledge of a real life recording studio. John gave a hands-on approach as well as clear explanations of why he was asking me to do something. The practical experience with John for the 2 days was a really worthwhile experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it.’
‘My students gained a detailed and highly valuable insight into the reality of studio recording. They have since brought many of the skills that they learnt into our own studio back at school, and their standard of work has developed as a direct result of the 2 days. The course was very flexible and constructed around the prior skills of the students and how to move them forward in a positive and down to earth way.’ (from me!). (Robert Marr, Director of Specialism, Oriel High School, Crawley)
My friends and I had a great time. The fact that John (course tutor) produces records, gave us a good outlook on how things are done in a professional studio. (Phil Larsen, Student)
It was magic being in a real recording studio and being allowed to experiment with the gear. Dan, year 13 music tech student.
John showed us all kinds of stuff that we can do in our own Cubase studio at school’ Now I know what compression is all about. Brilliant!!!! Jenny, year 12.
"Having been a professional musician over the past 25 years I have had the pleasure of teaching many students. Every student asks me the same question “Where do I go next” and I have one answer; EQ Studios to spend some quality time with John Hamilton. Not only do they get the thrill of creating their first recordings they learn so much from his countless years as a creative producer and musician." - Phil Ryan
"I have been teaching piano in the NW London area for the past fifteen years. I have been using John Hamilton's EQ Studios to arrange and produce my own songs. To date, four of my students have utilised EQ Studios to turn their compositions into finished productions. I know that for each of these students, working with John has given them an added perspective into both music creation and appreciation, as well as an unforgettable day in the studio. I would unhesitatingly recommend his services at EQ Studios to both yourself and your students." - Barry Dawes, Edgware
